It's surreal to see familiar buildings and roads that i literally see everyday in a ASMR video

As a Swede it’s always so fascinating seing all the poles and electrical wires in the US. Takes away from the pretty views. In most of Europe it’s all under ground.
@sandrasundell119011 ай бұрын
I live in Southern California. It's common to have power lines underground. But in Northern California the power lines are above.
@NnathalieN11 ай бұрын
@@sandrasundell1190 I’ve lived in San Diego and saw a lot of power lines 🤔 and Los Angeles is filled with them. It was really surprising how the most exclusive homes could have power lines in front of them. What area in SoCal have them underground?
@kerstinandersson98944 ай бұрын
Hi, half Swede half American (I live in Greensboro, NC haha) here. Whenever I visit family in Sweden, I always admire the differences between the cities here and the cities there. Power lines here feel much more rustic, whereas Sweden not having power lines seems more naturalistic!
@laila_dawson32793 ай бұрын
i agree. when i went to europe this summer walking down the sidewalk just felt different there especially in Switzerland where you don't have to press the button to cross the street you just go when you can😂 Here in greensboro it's trying not to get hit by some driver not paying attention😭

As a European (Balkan to be exact) it's so strange seeing how spacious everything in this video looked kinda looks as unused land. That much driving in my country would get you to 3-4 cities. Definitely more peaceful driving experience tho, thank you for the calming video ❤️
@givannasolis17306 ай бұрын
the united states is the size of several european counties (around 30 countries can fit into the continental united states). of course it can be off-putting for europeans to see as they have much smaller countries as a continent. you could drive for 4 hours in one direction and still be in the same state. not unused, just accommodating to more people. hope this helps!

This may seem strange, but I cannot drive, after several attempts I simply gave up and admitted to myself that despite having the licence (obtained many many years ago in high school) I am a very bad driver - scared, erratic, with slow reactions. That said I love car trips so much, just driving around and stopping where I like it to explore! My forever patient husband and daughter who both drive very well regularly take me on drives. When we were visiting USA (in 1994), we drove through Tennessee and Pennsylvania a bit, also in Texas. This video takes me back to those trips, seeing the real life in towns and cities of all sizes, visiting little local cemeteries and diners. Thank you for that!
