If you saw her subscribers number, you also saw that her videos has a great amount of consistent views, which justifies the number of subscribers. It's not that hard to realize that people from other countries, that speaks languanges that aren't english, also do asmr videos and can be famous.

There have been scandals around KZbinrs who had massive followings and it turns out the majority of their numbers were fake. I've even seen apps in the Google Playstore available for purchasing subscribers! The reason I was surprised she was so popular is not because of language, but it was because 1. She did not have "ASMR" or something similar in her title, and 2. Someone with that hog of a following, I would have guessed would pop up in my feed by now. Of course, neither of those things HAS to be true for her to be famous (especually because most of the content I consume is in English), having NEITHER of those things true put her popularity at a low likelihood in my mind. You are probably right that my comment was at least a little bit rude. But I would like to say (not as a justification, just as an explanation) that I wouldn't have said that if i genuinely believed all those numbers were fake. It was more just an exclamation of being impressed. For further clarification, I'm always impressed when I see a comment left by someone who is really popular--it's not exclusive to her. I feel like a need a transition/closing, but it's midnight and word-ing abilities are escaping me right now

If you were just surprised, you could just say something as simple as "I'm surprised that you have that many subscribes and I didn't know you yet, I will watch some of your videos later". That would have been so much nicer than asking if she had bought subscribers. And you could just have said "I'm sorry, I should've expressed myself in another way" to me, it would have been much better than to write your long comment. Sometimes being humble and keeping your words simple is the best choice.
