I think I saw a study that shows that the right ear (left side brain) processes speech more effectively and the left ear (right hemisphere) processes music and sustained sounds. So there you go, right ear for spoken words.

Standardized grammar came into play to help facilitate understanding between people. And while it can feel very validating to feel like you know and follow all the rules exactly right and that it makes you feel better than other people... The thing is that you understood what OP was saying. You grasped the meaning just fine. It's okay if there's an occasional typo, especially because most of the mistakes on phones are due to either a phone error or just a momentary lapse when getting your thoughts out quickly. It doesn't mean that a person doesn't actually know the rules. But even if they don't know all the rules, the important part of language is transferring understanding. It's about facilitating connections. Responding to someone's message like you did means that you're focused less on the point of language and its meaning and more on feeling better than others. And that's just not the point of linguistics. I said former self described grammar police because I realized what the point of communication and linguistics is. And it's not correcting minor mistakes in lieu of interacting with the message itself.

Makes sense about the right ear only videos being more popular, there is an advantage to your digestive tract if you sleep on your left side, so side sleepers will be more comfortable with just the right ear bud in as most side sleepers are likely on their left side, least thats my theory
