The person who bought the BDO womens trophy gave it back to 10 times winner Trina Gulliver as a surprise live on stage, like 10 years after she had last won it. You should watch that video.

Just some extra information for anyone curious, because darts was so predominantly British and European the BDO world championship was recognised effectively as the WDF world championship (known as the Lakeside Championship because of the location it’s played in) and after the BDO went under it has continued (current champion just became a PDC member like a week ago tho)

The BDO are like a dart board. They just love to draw a target on themselves. But when all is said and done, they really checked out without a leg to stand on. Ah, yes. I remember the days when UFC fighters wore various MMA brands before being banned (Affliction, Tapout, etc). What year did the UFC eventually got rid of individual fighter apparel sponsorships?
