FUN FACTS: 🐽 Recipe is posted on my Tiktok and IG @hungrycakes. See you there! 🐽 The Lechon sauce is also homemade. 👌 🐽 Kawali means "pan" in English. Traditionally, the pork belly is fried in a shallow pan. 🐽 I'm eating it with Atchara or Filipino pickled papaya. It's tangy and sweet and helps cut the fattiness of the pork belly. 🐽 This is sooo bad for you but so good. Eat in moderation 🤣 🐽 Love you #hungrycakesfam

That looks like an amazing combo! Reminds me of the flavor profile of pan fried salmon with pineapple or mango! Filipino food looks so vibrant and refreshing :) I live in Burlington, Vermont and the closest Filipino restaurant is 70 miles away in Montreal lol definitely wanna try it sometime!

Did you make that lechon sauce? I love homemade lechon sauce..I only use Mang Tomas when Im desperate..just cant compare to homemade. It used to be good but now it doesnt have much flavour..just a sweet thick paste 😕 other sauces i love with lechon is UFC banana ketchup, atchara and toyo with vinegar, garlic, onion, chilli and sugar
