I first became aware of ASMR before there was even a name for it. It was the late 70s/early 80s, and I used to scour our local PBS & public access channels for voices that overemphasized consonants or made unintentional crinkling or liquid mixing sounds. I thought I was a weirdo until "ASMR" was recognized & legitimized, and listening to this video, it really took me back to those early days of defining the sounds that gave me that intense but indescribable relaxation that epitomized the infancy of ASMR. Thank you for taking me back to those early days. I need a 16 hour loop of this to help convince my circadian rhythm to finally simmer down. (PS: Your whispers are gorgeous, and OMG the lid sounds)!

Thank you for sharing this with us! It’s actually interesting to find out how people experiencing ASMR for the first time! I remember my grandmother used to whisper so many bedtime stories when I was just a child & her voice relaxed me and put me to sleep so easy, or when my mom used to put on makeup and she was just moving things around and I was laying in bed and it just relaxed me for some reason . I was actually happy to find out there was “a thing” few years ago when I experienced the same feeling here on KZbin✨ Really happy you enjoyed this video !

everyone and their mom was aware of asmr before it had a "name" lol its a sensation, not an invention .. and especially in Asia people have always had ways to "trigger" it like traditional ear cleaning

@@kathaai Everyone & their mom may have been aware of the "sensation" of certain sounds helping them into a state of calm, relaxation or euphoria before it was given a name, lol, but they weren't aware OF it as "ASMR" until it was CALLED "ASMR." I never called it an "invention," I just said it was eventually given a name so people knew what to call it. Good grief.
