As someone with ptsd and intrusive thoughts this was also super amazing. I prefer the "hey, focus on me" SOOOOOOO much over the "don't think about your worries" because if I get reminded that there is even the option of thinking about my worries, I will do so. Every time, even if I was relaxed before and did not think about them. It's like someone telling you "don't think about polar bears" well guess what, NOW I'm thinking about polar bears. So clear instructions on WHAT to actually think about or focus on are way more effective on keeping my mind off of the bad stuff.

There's a reason for that! Basically the brain comprehends in pictures typically, and since there's really no visual for 'dont' it's going to basically omit that word from the instruction and visualize doing the thing you're not supposed to be doing. Obviously this is really not helpful when you're told 'dont think about ____'

This is one of the only ‘asmr for people with ADHD’ that has worked for me. I’m using this to take a break during my studying (because ADHD, i need a lot of breaks) and i wanted something that would actually distract me/keep me engaged, and this seriously worked! The main issue i usually have with ‘ASMR for ADHD’ is that a lot of the time it’s just a lot of fast-paced triggers, but this asked so many questions at such a fast-pace that i didn’t get bored. Even when i did get distracted and go down a random train of thought, the clicks and countdowns brought me back pretty quickly. This was just one of those videos that scratched my brain in a way most videos don’t so i had to leave a review :p Thank you
@bigbadlara53043 жыл бұрын
Pro tip don't make your breaks too long I usually keep 5imute breaks every hour and shorter ones in between. When I take a long break my mind begins to wander and my focus deteriorates. (I have Adhd )
