As an ADHD person, I tell people being ADHD is like having two brains and only one way to process the information. I need to distract one brain to give the other one time to focus or otherwise they're arguing with each other and nothing gets done. Its why I constantly have a tv on while I work, but it has to be something I enjoy, but isn't new, with a lot of dialogue, that I won't get sucked into. Very irritating. This video really does distract my first brain well.

Using “noise” to reach the minimum stimulation you need to focus. I really like GameGrumps for this in particular, because they have really long series, it’s not distracting in the way irregular sounds can be, and they usually just chat about nothing. It tunes into the background really nicely, depending on the game they’re playing.
@martina67002 жыл бұрын
@@ShadowSliph I don't have ADHD but I do this as well, I get bored too easily doing something if I don't have something in the background. It doesn't matter if I'm not paying attention to it, but the silence is not an option. If I have something in the background, I will concentrate faster and longer.

@brob58453 жыл бұрын
It's more like they tend to lack impulse control. But there are plenty of people with ADHD that are good at masking or just aren't loud people. You've probably also met many people with ADHD who are not loud, and you may just not have realized they had ADHD. Actually, autism and ADHD have many symptoms in common, and having one of them increases the chances of having the other.
@MacKenzieisloitering3 жыл бұрын
My major problem with ADHD while interacting with others isn’t necessarily that I’m loud, but I interrupt a LOT, because I’m so scared I’ll lose the thought of what I want to say. I can understand how that is overwhelming to others though.
@kadeykoo25753 жыл бұрын
I was definitely not a loud person growing up with ADHD, but that was because I was bullied and became reclusive because of it. Also my meds, and this should be the case with anyone who is actually clinically diagnosed with ADHD, typically dialed me down A LOT. That was the whole point of the meds. To get you to stop being hyperactive and focus on the task at hand. However, when I was off my meds or forgot to take it people could tell because I was such a different person when I wasn’t doped up on Concerta. Impulse control I would say is the biggest thing as someone else already commented. I have a bad habit of interrupting conversation a lot, or just, saying whatever is on my mind related to a conversation but not the topic at hand. Then people get confused about what I am talking about because my brain just jumps from A to C and skip the B. I was also had like physical stims that were pretty weird, one in particular was rubbing a flat eraser against my cheek or constantly rubbing my thumb into the eraser. Another thing is hyper focus! I tend to hyper focus on something of interest and cant focus on anything else but that one thing. XD

You actually managed to break my tingle immunity.. WOW. My eyes literally rolled to the back of my head in some parts, that’s insane 😭 I don’t think I have adhd but I’ve never got it checked out.. I do have a hard time focusing sometimes and this helps ALOT. Amazing video :)
