ASMR | Full Body Reiki Session and Massage✨[Fabric Sounds, Pulling, Snipping]

Hello my wacky wombats, in today's ASMR reiki video I'll be doing a full body healing session, as well as a bit of massaging you! I've set up the mics so that I can walk around "you" so you'll be getting 360 degrees of relaxation!
I'll start with lighting a smudge stick to cleanse the space for our session. Then there will be lots of reiki triggers, such as pulling, plucking, snipping, and energy cleansing. I'll also be giving you a bit of a massage at some points, so there will be fabric rubbing and fabric scratching triggers, as well as skin sounds to warm up my hands.

These outside the mainstream 'treatments' are really relaxing. Probably because there's both mystery and maybe a placebo effect. The person performing it is a factor too.👏💤

As much as I do believe in modern medicine, I do think something is to be said for the more holistic approach.. at the very least I feel like the calming atmosphere of it makes you feel more cared for, which like you said can act as a placebo!

I don't do yoga too too much, although I do yoga which I feel like can be used as a meditation. I'd love to go to a reiki session in person sometime just to experience it!

I wanna start off by saying I love your videos and the massage/reiki ones are my favorite. I'm wondering about the smudging though. Reiki is from China and smudging is from first nations traditions. Does this still fit in as we work towards reconciliation in Canada?

Thank you for pointing this out, I actually had no idea smudging was an indigenous tradition! I've just seen so many Reiki videos with smudging I thought they were from the same school of tradition. I did a bit of research, and had a talk with my friend who's indigenous, and he seems to think as long as it's done in a respectful way that's not mocking the tradition it's alright. I'm out right now, but I'll do some more research when I get home, and think about maybe writing a disclaimer in the description. Thank you again for pointing this out to me 😊

@@MapleWhispersASMR there was a really interesting segment on cbc radio recently about how white yoga practitioners had adopted smudging and other indigenous practices in a inconsistent manner to how they are supposed to be used. We're all in this learning together! :)

@ansamerch - gentle reminder that Reiki comes from Japan, not China. As Maple points out, smudging is used extensively throughout the ASMR and Reiki community as part of an eclectic assortment of practices. It seems to me that the smudging here is handled with respect, almost reverence. The use of diverse approaches to comfort people seems a wonderful step toward harmony. Thank you Maple for all you do. ❤️
