Love this. As someone who played this game back in 2004 it was super interesting! Your relaxed voice and overall positive personality made this a great ASMR video.

What a fantastic video, this brought back so many amazing feels from GT4, but this is also particularly interesting because I visited Seattle 5 years ago, and I believe I walked part of the circuit without even knowing it! Thanks for sharing, this is the kind of total car nerd (in the best way possible) stuff that I just love!

Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed this and it's great to hear from a fellow car nerd :) I have another video like this planned when I can find another quiet moment at home ... a particular city that has had two different circuits in GT4 :)

OHH I can't wait to see what it is! Also, your GT5 and GT6 videos made me get a PS3, keep up the awesome work. I love the ASMR aspect that you do so adding the car factor and your work is amazing!

This was my favorite track in GT4 as a kid. I hope they bring this layout back or a new modern layout as the roads have slightly changed since the deconstruction of the viaduct, or even both
@Iamyodaddy_2 жыл бұрын
They probably wouldn't because they would have to redesign it since Seattle's skyline changed to update it to modern times. Plus they did a demolition on the old dome years ago

Had to watch it now! This is honestly so cool! One of my favorite tracks in my all time favorite GT game! I actually saw a recent video of Tokyo R246 as well which was based on a real set of streets in Tokyo! The amount of detail and dedication Polyphony puts into their games is just incredible! 😊👍

What a neat video! I don't play GT, but I do like to get on Google Earth and "travel" streets all over the world. A fascinating way to spend some hours!

Why thank you! I have more like this planned :) It's awesome how good the pano photography is on Google, and having moved around so much in my life, it's really nice to go back and visit places. Or even go places I've never been... indeed so fascinating!

Awesome video bro, I love these kind of stuff! I remember back in GT5 days when Acura launched the new NSX trailer in GT5's engine and some part of the the clip showed the car going through the Seattle track (specifically through Yesler Way). And that cracked our brains back then, because it's clear on this clip that it's not the GT4 version of the track, it IS at least a PS3 era version, which made us all think Polyphony could be working on this track again for GT6. So, it didn't happen, but we did get Apricot Hill, which also was a track first teased on this NSX trailer along with Seattle. Now there are some "obvious" reasons I think Polyphony is not going to bring back this track so soon: First, it's the layout changes, it will definitely be weird as hell if they just remaster the track, keeping the old style just with the PS4 graphics, like they did with Grand Valley, Trial Mountain, etc. when bringing them from PS2 to PS3. (but in this case it's okay because these tracks are 100% fictional) So, they would need to put some work making a 2018 version of the track, but then, the other problem comes: Seattle is right now totally under construction and replacements (at least the area featured in the game). Alaskan Way Viaduct will be replaced with an underground tunnel, that would be enough to kill the track's personality in Gran Turismo's perspectives, but there are even more updates going on through the layout. Also, I don't get why the Kingdome was still on GT4, since it is a 2004 game and the building was imploded in 2000. They had time to change it, but it seems they simply didn't want to.

Love the details, bro, thank you for sharing! Yeah I imagine it's tricky when the parts you want to scan for a new version are under construction... especially if you get attached to certain places that would have been so cool to drive through :) I do hope they figure out another layout that would work especially if they can keep certain parts from this one.

one of my fav tracks, also rip kingdome

What I found interesting was the Seattle Kingdome was in GT3 to GT PSP, despite the fact that Kingdome was imploded in 2000 and both games were released after that.

Greetings from Berlin Germany. I was a BIG Fan of the track since GT3. Nice work. You answerd a lot of questions in my Brain. I was always thinking : ,,Is this Track based on the real City?" Now i know. Thank You SO Much.

Welcome back. I just bought the new GT Sport, haven't played GT series forever just like you said when it got bad, and it's finally back. I bought the PSVR bundle kit and also a Thrustmaster t300 rs wheel and T3PA Pro pedals and it's like you are actually in the race car. Save up and get it!!!
@WhatisASMR6 жыл бұрын
Good to hear! I've started looking into it a bit and yeah, good to know it's looking fun so far! Did you always use the Thrustmaster wheels or were you also using Logitech? Would love to get your reaction to the different feel and so on :)
@f1dog6 жыл бұрын
Yes! (sorry, lots of words to say, so hope you read quickly :) )I had a Logitech wheel for my old PS2 and PS3(actually not sure if I had a logitech wheel for the ps3, I didn't think Gran Turismo was very good during that era) and when I finally decided to get a PS4, I did a ton of research on the best wheel set up for it. You can buy used PS4's now (no way I was going to pay full price for that expensive system) and the only thing I use the PS4 is for racing games and since the PS4 has been out for 5 years now, they have some really good racing games. On all the reviews, it discussed 3 different steering wheel options. The Logitech G27 and G29, the Thrustmaster T300rs, and the Fanatec CSL Elite PS4. The Thrustmaster was hands down the winner in the reviews. Fanatec is also really good, but it's more expensive and it's really made for a PC and in this age, you have to have a very powerful PC that can cost thousands of dollars to run the graphics on these games so the PS4 is the cheapest option. If you get a Thrustmaster T300rs, you'll be blown away. It's extremely powerful and it will wear your arms out, (not for you and me since we both are in shape), but it's powerful and has the most amazing driving sensation. You can change wheels just like a real race car, I bought two different racing wheels. They have an amazing F1 wheel add on as well as an Alcantara Ferrari 599x wheel with paddle shifters. They both feel really high quality (like an actual car) and I know the Ferrari 599x wheel uses the exact same leather materials as in the actual Ferrari 599x (it's amazing, same leather supplier). So here is what I suggest. On Amazon, buy it all separately. (All of this stuff can be found discounted because they are all at least 2 years old, but don't get a used servo base, it's important that you get a new one so that its not warn out at all) . Get the T300rs Servo base to start. Then maybe choose one wheel like the Ferrari Alcantara wheel add on (save for the F1 wheel later on) or do what I did and buy the F1 wheel add on first and then buy a second wheel. You will want that alcantara wheel. Then, you'll want the best pedal set up. The Thrustmaster TP3A-Pro pedals are absolutely insane. The gas pedal feels straight out of an M3 and the brake pedal is just as stiff and sensitive as a race car. Clutch feels good but you don't really use it because all of these cars use the paddle shifters these days although they even sell a stick shift add on as well. There are much more expensive set ups but this one is definitely the best experience for a lower cost. The new Gran Turismo Thurstmaster GT wheel is just stupidly expensive. Go with the T300rs. I never really thought I would buy another Playstation again being 36, but I was totally blown away when I did. I bought F1 2016 and F1 2017 and omg, it's like you are driving an F1 car. The cars drive so well and graphics are just light years ahead of the old PS2 and PS3. The driving experience is fast. You have to really be awake and alert. They've gotten so much more advanced than when you and I were playing the first Gran Tursimo's back in the 90's. When you slide off the road, the wheel feels exactly as it would in real life and if you hit the wall, you have to let go of the wheel or you will nearly break your hands, just like f1 drivers do. The faster you go, the wheel becomes crazy stiff. My girlfriend got me a present for my birthday last month and it was the PSVR system with GT Sport (it included a PS camera needed and the PSVR goggles). Holy crap. Welcome to what you and I dreamed of "the future of gaming". You truly become immersed in the game. A lot of people don't like VR but I think it's only really good for people who love racing and GT Sport VR and Dirt VR are absolutely mind blowing and must haves. You can totally download all these games online now, no need to go to the store after this. You will not be disappointed if you are lucky enough to make a little "investment" toward all this stuff because you'll be playing it for a long time and it WILL get you back into the racing spirit. There's a possibility that F1 2018 will have VR as well. What's your racing channel . by the way? Oh, you will love this. I just bought a 2018 C43 AMG sedan! My first AMG car ever. It's fast and l wish you lived in SF, I'd take you out to Sonoma or Laguna so you could do some laps in it. Hope you are doing well!

Awesome, thanks for all the info and congrats on getting yourself an AMG C43! I have other gamer buddies who also rave about how awesome VR is on GT Sport, so I'm definitely considering it! Again, really appreciate the detailed response, this is very helpful :)

Absolutely. Welcome back! And yes, you'll love it if you get the PSVR for it. Just prepare for a little motion sickness at first, it's pretty realistic.

Would be interesting to see an updated version of this track in a new GT game especially now that the viaduct has been torn down and put underground. The rest of it is probably more or less the same.
