With games like Jedi Survivor we need to differentiate between "open world" and "instanced Sandbox." Dishonored is another game people say is open world but its actually a sandbox. Witcher, Skyrim, No Man's Sky is open world. I could even argue a game like Outer Worlds is a sandbox rather than an open world.

I dont dislike the sandbox games at all! but to call them flat out open world is misleading, ya know?

The thing with a lot of jrpgs are that they take a lot of time and dedication definitely not something I would recommend to a lot of people who just play casual But still a genre that has some of the best games I have ever played ff7 persona 3 xenoblade ect

Hot take indies are way better than triple A games reason being replayability in its own respective genres gsmes like hollow knight, axiom verge, the binding of issac, etc all have replayability aspects but triple A games involve most of the game with its story and replayability last. Now you can add side quests and some people can play those but i feel that isn't for everyone to do especially if rewards are limited or just suck why would you want to do it.
