My Goddesses! I'm the one who set you Free. I Cast a Powerful Unlocking Spell, Alhambra Keytosis! My Goddesses, I have always believed in you. I'm good, thanks. Thank you, my Goddess! Umis. Erva, was it? Pleased to meet you! O-Oh! That's kind of you to say, even though I am called the Village Lunatic for believing in you. I practice Magic. Thank you, Goddesses!
@so_sma112 жыл бұрын
I'm a little curious are the goddesses the same size as the listener, or are they larger than him? Personally I always feel like "goddesses" should be like giants to reflect their immense power, but maybe that's just my preference. If they are, or if you do any other "giant" character in the future, you might want to include some sounds to communicate the size difference.
@LapideVoice2 жыл бұрын
Atm not really, they are maybe a tiny bit taller but not gigantic. However, what do you suggest to convey a size like that through audio?
@so_sma112 жыл бұрын
@@LapideVoice OK, since you're curious I'll give my advice for conveying, uh, abnormally sized individuals in ASMR. Obviously some of this is subjective (a giant goddess would sound a lot more "supernatural," for example) but for the sake of focusing on the most important parts let's just say that you're just voicing a "giant." Nothing special about her, she's just BIG. I also included a quick summary at the end if you want the short version of my advice for reference! I'd say there are two important parts of depicting giant characters: their _voice_ and the sound of their _movements._ First, since bigger creatures have bigger vocal chords, I think it's best to have the giant's size reflected by your voice _in some form._ One stereotypical way to do this is by lowering the pitch of your voice in editing, though this is actually quite rare and I think some people feel a little uncomfortable hearing their voice like that, so that's completely optional (personally I think this works better with stories that have the listener _shrink,_ to reflect the way their tiny ears now hear the world). The best option for communicating size through voice is the _power_ of the voice. Giants are loud, even if they don't want to be, and conversations with them are difficult due to the size difference. If a giant is speaking normally to a listener at her feet, her voice would probably have a faint echo to it due to its sheer strength combined with the voice's distance, but wouldn't sound much louder than a human voice in most roleplays (meanwhile the listener might have to yell for her to hear). However, if we're having a conversation right next to her face instead, her voice would either be louder than normal, or she would be speaking in audible (VERY audible) whispers so the listener's ears aren't hurt. Now, the _movement_ of a giant is something you have to do entirely in editing, but is just as important. It's how you show that the one who's talking to us is actually a giant and not someone with a really loud voice. First off, I know this sounds cliché, but stomping sounds are always a good bet, even if they're just subtle "booms" with every steps she takes. However, keep in mind that _it's not just her feet that makes these sounds!_ Her hands and everything else also make some kind of "boom" whenever she touches something with even moderate force. Make sure to include sounds (even if they're simple ones) to communicate, for example, her leaning on a wall. It's all context-sensitive but hopefully you get the jist. Also, I want to emphasize the _sounds to include if she picks the listener up._ Whether she grabs the listener or they willingly climb onto her hand, her hand being brought up to her face should be communicated with _the sound of rushing wind._ Even if she's moving her hand slowly, that's still a lot of muscle being pushed against a lot of air! Also, when we're up against her face, I recommend including _sound of her breathing._ Being close to a giant's face means the listener can probably feel her inhales and exhales like warm gusts of wind. Actually, there's tons of potential for "giant" ASMR triggers - heartbeats, kisses/licks, or yawns that sound like they come from a giant are some of my favorites! Lastly, I'd avoid the trap of depicting giant beings as "slow." There's a lot of popular scenes where large creatures perceive time more slowly for some reason (for example, humans are able to run faster than giants and escape somehow) but this simply isn't accurate. Big creatures experience the laws of physics just like smaller creatures do! OK, I know this is a LOT to process, so to make things easier I've condensed my main points down to a few sentences each that can be a good rule of thumb: SUMMARY (VOICE): If you have a giant (or any kind of gigantic character) talking to the listener who is on the ground, have your voice be at normal conversation volume but add a subtle echo to communicate the distance. If she picks up the listener or is leaning in, remove the echo but increase the volume of her voice to emphasize her power (leaning closer to your microphone can also simulate being close to her face). Lowering the pitch of your voice can also help show her size but this isn't required if you don't like it. SUMMARY (MOVEMENT): _Every single movement_ of a giant creates vibration. Be sure to include audible stomping sounds whenever she walks, and impacts whenever she does something like sit down or touch an object with her hand. Additionally, the sound of rushing wind could really help whenever she moves her body, such as if she leans down to the listener's level or lifts them up with her hand. Lastly, even basic body functions, such as the heartbeat, stomach growling, or even just breathing from the nose, are much more audible when the listener is close to a giant compared to someone who's normally sized. Including these "giant" sounds when appropriate will increase immersion a lot!
