Are weighted blankets worth it? Been thinking about buying one
@naan88392 жыл бұрын
@@joshsullivan8527 Hi ! I am not the person who wrote the first comment and you have poster this a year ago. Maybe you haven't got any weighted blanket yet, if you have I'd like to have your experience with it too. For me it works for short période of time (i feel like it helps me ground my body and come back to reality when i am spiralling into anxious toughts), tough, for a while I used to sleep with it and I used to have bad sleep, and I never took the time to reflect on it but at first I couldn't handle the weight of it for a whole night on my body, so I took a break from it, and then I started using it again. From this point my quality of sleep kept improving, for other reasons too, however, I assume the weighted blanket did help on the falling asleep difficulty because once you get used to it you feel like you are in a safe cocoon and having a weight on you is extremely comfortable. I think it is worth it because you will probably find a way for it to work out for you :)
@joshsullivan85272 жыл бұрын
@@naan8839 thanks for you comment, I haven't bought one yet but I will probably get one now that it's on my mind again. It does look and sound comforting. How easy is it to clean in your experience?
@naan88392 жыл бұрын
@@joshsullivan8527 the cleaning part is easier when you buy a cover for it so that you wash the cover rather than the blanket because it is not recommanded from what i remember

Just a heads up: I've heard rumors that YT is going to run ads on videos regardless of if the content creator agreed to it or not. Needless to say, if the content creator isn't allowing ads, YT will pocket every last cent. I know I shouldn't speak on Esc's behalf, but since she's making a point of not running ads, we should let her know if any do run on her content

Thank goodness other platforms exist. YT is overreaching if they attempt that move, and will lose creators. Greedy YT.
@dauntlessasmr79103 жыл бұрын
Yeah, not a rumor. Absolute fact. Gave her the heads-up about the very same thing a month before you mentioned it. Can confirm it's 100% true. I don't monitize any of my videos either. So imagine my surprise when I was looking for a particular video on my channel a few months back. Found it, clicked on it, and there's some ugly dude named Kyle promoting his worthless invention before my video even started playing! I was not happy! So yeah..... definitely not a rumor.

I’ve had some pretty extreme problems with very low self worth, and perfectionism in a sense, especially a few years back. A lot of it has settled pretty badly over the years (despite being conscious of it). It has been really difficult to find a healthy balance in that sense, but I’ve been trying. I really appreciated the blanket before letting go further. The countdowns were really nice themselves also. Everything felt really safe, relaxing and caring/gentle all around. I got really emotional from the affirmations and some really felt perfect for that level of safety for me. So thanks so much for that. Something’s been very stressful in a relevant way since recently also, so it felt tender and I got quite emotional/sensitive while listening, thank you.

Long time listener (like 2014), first time commenter. This one resonates. Message familiar to what I've heard before. So difficult to unlearn maladaptive self-beliefs, perceptions, or to simply acknowledge those and set them aside to hold open spaciousness in the mind for other possibilities. No acceptance for mediocrity while living as an utmost exemplar of unfullfilled mediocrity, is a slow burn of existential distress. Supposedly this is a problem of thinkers, those who feel strongly, visiting the realm of rumination, reflection, with incomplete introspection, perspective, yet lack the language and emotional reasoning development to fully comprehend and move along in life. Our cultures' use of aggressive language is no help in these struggles, along with all the problems of status disparity, enforced scarcity of resources, lack of individual and communal agency. Nature (wind fluttering in green leaves) and guided meditation seem to help, along with connective social dialogue, and exercise, plenty of exercise. Many of these things are difficult to sustain alone, and/or in the presence of the overwhelming deluge of the dominant culture. Yet, one can try to remember thankfulness that some things are still findable, accessible here online, for now, that perhaps weren't until 15-20 years ago.

I've hardly ever watch hypnotherapy videos, but I've been feeling so sad and frustrated and like such a failure lately. I've been trying and trying, but I keep making stupid mistakes and fucking up my opportunities. So I decided to give this one a try. It was nice to listen to. I think the part that stuck with me was "There's no wrong way to live life." But it talks about how to deal with the negatives of being a perfectionist and how to be more easy on yourself. I am not a perfectionist but I am hard on myself. So maybe this video wasn't made for me. It kind of makes me feel guilty watching videos like these because I wonder if I deserve to feel like this when I don't put in as much effort as you do into your videos, or any other successful perfectionist puts effort into their craft?
