lol interesting. i had this hairstyle done on me for halloween. (10+years ago) did a different style for my hair using the same technique years after. you need to use a roller, iron helps. its as "simple", as rolling the front hair forward and using pins to hold in place. it takes practice, patience, and hairspray lollllllllll

so typically you use a roller, or hot iron to "form" the front, and then you carefully hold that shape using a comb, hairspray and pins. not typical to keep the roller in. odd actually.
