I’ve never needed ASMR as much as I’ve needed it the last few months. In October I lost my brother and then November 23 I had to put my beloved bishon to rest. Michigander here, I loved that part too. We use the pointing to the hand thing all the time to show a city or give directions. Its such a normal thing to do here, its weird to see it being explained like an interesting idea 😂💛

When I was in college it was super popular for people to take it a bit further and get a little star or heart tattooed on their hand so they didn't even have to point at it, just hold their hand up.

So, funny story. My two year old loves Country Living. He found one at my grandma's and got immediately attached to it. He looked through it over and over until it was literally in shreds. I've tried saving toy catalogs for him, but he doesn't want those. He likes Country Living and also my father-in-law's farm land auction catalogs 😅. He's a strange child. Anyway! Lol I'm from Grand Rapids in SW Michigan and yup, the hand thing is real. Those that live in the U.P. though (upper peninsula) are off the mitten, it's true. I feel we rarely see the yoopers down this far south though, there's an assumption that those in the U.P. live in the woods, very rural, lots of National Parks

There is another "mitten" kind of for the Upper Peninsula of MI. And I never really thought about it, but it's probably mostly just people from MI that use the mitten map lol. I've heard of people from other midwest states doing it too

I really love the hot chocolate breathing visualisation. You imagine you have a cup of hot chocolate in your hands and take a deep breath in, imagining how it smells. Then you let your breath out really slowly like you're blowing on the chocolate to cool it down. Hope this helps!x

I got SO offended when she was like "everybody hates fruitcake... who wants it?".... So I guess Im the one who likes fruit cake ToT I didn't even know it was an uncommon thing lol. I think the problem is a lot of commercial fruitcake isn't made properly and ends up super dry. You have to keep it soaked in rum to keep it moist and let it get delicious and aged!! Like I don't like most fruitcake products, but I always beg to make homemade fruitcake for the holidays XD
