I wish all salespeople sounded as gentle as you! I've been wanting to purchase a ring for some time now but the reason why I haven't is because I find jewelry stores so intimidating. The interior (chandeliers and stuff) and the displays scare me a bit, and the people who work there normally wear suits. The stores with actual sitting areas are the most intimidating to me.

I know what you mean and I hate that some of those kinds of froofroo boutiques try to act so superior and elitist. In my opinion there is never a need for that regardless of how lovely the fixtures and furnishings might be or how famous the brand. One of the reasons I wanted to focus on the things I do on this channel is to combat that kind of notion when it comes to designer fashion - I hate how exclusionary it tries to be and I refuse to accept that kind of attitude lol! I'm not sure if you have ever considered it, and I know that it is not glamorous or typically a lovely experience (although it can be) but I often go to pawn stores first when considering jewelry purchases. My great grandfather was a jeweler and I have always been interested in jewelry and gemology - I am not sure if you know much about the jewelry industry but the price markup that you get from jewelry stores is outrageously high. I can totally understand if you want to purchase a particular item from a place like Tiffany's or Cartier or a similar nice store because there you are buying more than just the item itself but if you are just looking for a nice ring etc. and are not sure what you might want and don't care about the brand or having a posh buying environment, then I highly recommend considering shopping at pawn stores first just to check out what is available and get an idea of prices. The national chain pawn stores like Cash America often have the best selection at fair prices and they also have a good return policy as I recall. I don't think many people realize this but much of the jewelry that you see in jewelry stores like Kay's started out from pieces that came from places like pawn stores - the items are taken apart and melted down and made into new ones but the stones themselves and the metal are the same haha! Don't forget to haggle though if you do go because you can almost always get a better price than what is on the ticket at pawn stores. Anyway - didn't mean to talk your ear off but this is another one of those things I feel strongly about and have a bit of info on so I just thought I would share ☺️ Thanks so much again for all your kind words and for watching! ::Hugs!:: (P.S. I work physically at the university where I am currently working on my doctorate. I also do work that involves compiling metadata for use in libraries.
