ASMR Midsummer Ramble

Happy Midsummer! I hope you had a wonderful midsummers eve if you celebrate midsummer. This is a soft spoken ASMR ramble where I will eat some strawberries, talk about Swedish midsummer traditions and a smaller personal ramble. I hope you enjoy it!

It’s normal to feel like you never want a relationship again. Once I accepted I was happy and content with my life of work. Coming home and gaming. Then my wife came into my life and I have never been happier. Enjoy your time alone for what it is.

I’m 35 and got tired of the party life at the end of my 20s. I loved it then, and in ways that socialization and networking shaped who I am today but I’m glad it’s over and actively want to just stay in and just enjoy time to myself. Every now and then is ok but not constantly like it used to be.

29:18 I understand. I'm still dealing with the fallout of a traumatic relationship that ended in flames a few years ago. I felt similarly, but I can tell you it starts to heal. When you're so intimate with a person and are betrayed so completely, it really hurts, and while you will bear the scar always, it will mend some in time. To some extent, we can turn our scars into wisdom. Don't lose hope. But if it turns out after healing that you're happier alone, then by all means, do what is healthiest for you!

i am not from europe, but i worked in ikea five years of my life, i was a designer of a store. it was best place of which i have worked. i remember how many coworkers of our store celebrated midsommer every year, at the inner restorant. i love sweden spirit. the great country for people ❤

I've been with my partner for 6 years and we don't live together. It's interesting that there's a word for that in Sweden. It's good for us, things might change in the future but I think having to still ask each other when we're going to see each other means we don't take each other for granted. It means we also have less domestic pressures and arguments as well. A perfectly good way to live, imo. Hope things feel better soon.

Funnily enough the weather has turned around the last couple of days in England, we had cold and rain but now it’s lovely and hot! Great video. I didn't know Midsommar and May Day were so similar. In Germany the "Maibaum" (may tree), which comes pretty close to your summer poles, is put up on May Day, which is the first day of may. The festivities around May Day are pagan, pre-christian, and meant to celebrate spring first and foremost. It is said that the May Day festivities are linked to ancient fertility rites, just like you said the Midsommar festivities are, which translated through history probably just means "letting the young people party hard". When studying history you gotta remember that people were way more inexperienced and naive when it comes to sexuality before even the 1950s when the first wave of "sexual awakening" hit the West through Rock'n'Roll music and the rise of cinemas, and 1969 with the consequent liberation of sexuality through Woodstock and the rise of feminism at the same time. So "fertility rites" doesn't mean sexual activity, it means the celebration of fertile seasons, could be baby rich seasons, could also be a rich harvest or a rich increase of cattle herds. And when you celebrate like that in May and June, you basically make sure that the young adults have something to work for during the summer because they found their future wife or husband on May Day or during Midsommar, so the next harvest will be way better.

hi! i am from Italy and also in my country strawberries aren t sweet...i do not like berries in general cause they aren t sweet , at least here. i do not like fruits in general, i just love grapes , peaches and watermelon

In Latvia there are some wild strawberries which are white in colour. Wild strawberries are the sweetest! And we love pickled herring with boiled new potatoes and cottage cheese on a side. Midsummer is one of the two biggest festivities in Latvia, too.

Misommar was good and quite shocking in parts, what let it down was some of the acting from a few of the younger actors. Better horror movies that were released around the same time are 'The Witch (2015)' and 'Hereditory'. I didn't like the 'Babadook'.
