You make this seem easy. To me it looks impossibly hard.

well. I had to start learning from much simpler patterns :)

this one is long and there's no music or talking and the artist doesn't put a pin in every stitch which means that there's more of the wonderful clicking noises

I started doing some lace, specifically battenberg and punto in aria lace, but bobbin lace seems sooo hard! But watch me get some bobbins and a lace pillow in a couple months, haha

I have been wanting to learn bobbin lacework, did you teach yourself or learn from a family member or teacher? Are there beginner resources you recommend?

I have enrolled onto remote learning course. I was learning myself and sending finished test pieces to the teachers and they would provide feedback. This lady teaches russian style kzbin.info%D0%98%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%97%D1%83%D0%B1%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%B0/videos

@@victoriaeagle Thank you soo much for responding although this video is from more than a year ago:) I really hope I'll be able to learn from videos. I do a lot of lace knitting in Russian and Estonian style, but I'm so in awe of bobbin lace and I'm so eager to learn.
