So I’m Autistic and didn’t cry when I lost my Nunna a few years ago. I loved her and miss her dearly but I have trouble expressing emotion. Watching this video though, it’s like seeing her again. Even though my Nunna was Maltese, from the way you touch your nose to how you move your hands, it’s all so familiar. You’re incredibly talented. Thankyou for connecting me to an emotion I thought was locked.
@cecilyerker
@cecilyerker 4 жыл бұрын
Briar Rose I’m autistic too and any emotional experience you have or express about your grief is okay and normal and valid! Your Nunna is at peace and your love for her is eternal. If you can only express emotion in private or using a video for catharsis then that’s super fine!

Of course. Malta was for many centuries part of the Sicilian Kingdom. The Relationship between Sicilian and Maltese were always intense. Geographically, Malta is the Spur of Sicily. Malta is much closer to Sicily, than Lampedusa is. And the language spoken by the Maltese is the same spoken in Sicily many centuries ago. So sad, that we lost this beautiful island.

wu1ming9shi Actually, mal d’occhio means like... hurt eye or like an eye infection... so pausing in between the words makes it sound like you’ve gotta visit the doctor! My honorary Uncle Thomas is really good with removing the bad eye, once my mum had to ask my uncle, her best friend Helena and her friend Stavros to remove my bad eye, they were all exhausted after that. Uncle Thomas and Helena asked me if I pissed off anyone and I had my ex-best friend Maria and she had a tendency to talk badly about people behind their backs. I was right she sort of hexed me...more like gave me a bad eye and I had a terrible headache, I couldn't get warm, I had chills and my nose was cold and it bled twice. I even fainted too. Me fainting and my nose bleeds made my mum ask her friends to remove the bad eye. Another time, my mum had a bad eye and it took her friends two days to get rid of it. The whole concept of the bad eye is very interesting to me.

@@cherriesbloom9327 The bad eye or evil eye it's a Greek and Italian and maybe from other countries tradition and it means that someone has hexed you or cursed because they had evil or bad intentions. Symptoms are headaches, stomachaches, dizziness, discomfort and easy irritation. You need to tell someone who knows such things to bless you in order to be healed. Such practices were passed down from generation to generation. Some believe it some don't. I do believe it. Sorry for the late reply!

This video is the most tingly nonna video I think. I come back to it often! I love the repetition in it, especially when she's "breaking" the malochio. I love repetition in ASMR but mostly when it makes sense/is natural

This is giving me nostalgia from when my γιαγιά was still alive. My brother and I had to wear a greek eye pin on our clothes growing up. In Greek culture, we wear a greek eye to protect ourselves from the evil eye, which is essentially the same thing as the malocchio. Thanks for that memory :)

So, I listen to ASMR pretty much everyday and I've stopped getting tingles a while ago. Don't get me wrong, love Gibi and Darling but you just have something so special. I've got so many tingles in this video, I'm not italian but she reminds me a bit of my own grandma. I was so much into the video than when you said, do this *hand gestures* I started moving my hands and fingers like you. Anyway, yeah! Long comment but thank you for your help in relaxing after a long day of work. I love your vibe. ♥♥♥ love from Montreal Canada

Oh yes I love watching the limpias on KZbin!!!! It’s my absolute favourite for unintentional ASMR!!! We have the floating egg yolk too!! And some rituals involving pennies and herbs. But it depends on who you speak to, because this is all very ~occult~ and the majority of Italians these days are extremely Catholic! (But still, some practice this cause traditions are super strong in certain places, like the South!!)

The White Rabbit ASMR Yes you’re exactly right! My grandmother was catholic and I from from a Hispanic family who strongly believe in curanderas and home remedies! I greatly appreciate you making this video because it really does remind me of my late grandmother ❤️ she wasn’t a nonna but she was a “lita” short for “abuelita” and Nonna really does remind me of her in a way. Thank you for making more nonna videos. I can’t wait to see you become EXTEMELY successful with your KZbin channel. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been here since Lorna from OITNB❤️❤️ You’re amazing and keep up the good work!
