What is ASMR?
Autonomous sensory meridian response, sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.

I literally went through a very similar procedure today and went I got off the examination table I passed out it was horrible and hurt I'm happy to see exposure on this topic of vaginal health and that it shouldn't be painful like mine was.

@@shannonjohnson3963 basically they told me it was a vasovagal syncope/cervical shock syndrome and they were quite rough so after getting up to get dressed I uh promptly passed out. Not uncommon they said but i found it very unpleasant. You should be able to find it online but basically they brushed a nerve I think that caused me to pass out.

When I got my first smear test after having my baby I was already pretty used to people putting things in my vagina lmao, but the Gynecologist I saw was new to me and he was pretty nice, I shit you not he looked at me when he brought the speculum out and said “looks like a duck” and then made it quack. He’s still my gynecologist and he’s the best doctor ever 😂

I’m so grateful that during mine there was two doctors and while one was down there the other was doing the breast exam and was talking about breast health and showing me a paper so I was too distracted trying to listen to her that I didn’t even pay attention or remember what was going on down there👌🏻 my experience was quick and they distracted me.

Where do you people get your smesr tests? They are not suppoesd to hurt! Like, at all! Maybe some discomfort, but no pain! Wtf? I read at least two comments mentioning passing out. People. No. Your gyn/ob is doing something weird. It shouldn't hurt! If it hurts, tell your doctor!

In my case the spectrum is usually too short. So it hurts like hell then the nurse seems really surprised although I have this issue with her time after time and then she changes the spectrum and it's just mildly painful..... yay.......

Also not everyone has access to the BEST doctors. Insurances and such. A lot of places can just be clinics! Everyone’s body is different and sometimes things hurt, or they could have health problems

Just in case any girl/woman reads this and starts freaking out, if they do hurt it could be due to lots of different and not dangerous reasons. Mine are painful because I have a tilted uterus, it’s not uncommon so please don’t be worried if they hurt ❤️ we’re all different ❤️

It depends where your cervix is positioned, the nurse, if you have any issues down there & we all have different sensations etc. Mine hurt but i was poorly & have now had a TAHBSO.

For those who are nervous about/have had painful pap smears, just hope you never need to have a colposcopy. I thought the cramping was bad for a pap at times, but oi vey.

My colposcopy is a month ago. On Wednesday this week I've had surgery. Conisation and currettage. The worst thing actually is, that I'm not allowed to do a shit. 🤣 I have a 15 months old toddler. Try to explain her why I can't pick her up and need to get help to get her out of her bed and change diapers etc. But I'm glad it not that painful. Actually it's a little like a sore muscle. But I'm one of the lucky ones, who aren't very pain sensitive. Can be good, or bad. Breaking bones while riding through the fields. Who cares? Been to hospital 4 hrs later. Burning my arms on the oven, Hu.. The Muffins smell funny. Giving birth without any painkiller. Cutting 2 fingers half off while cutting fresh food for the rabbits? Who cares. Finish your work and then clean your hands. Then there was the surprise, haven't noticed that I've cut THAT deep 🤣 I hope your results were OK and that you don't need to go through the surgery ❤️

I've been through the colposcopy process too, it wasn't pleasant but it's manageable. The worst part was when the gyno accidentally yanked out my coil at the same time - talk about inconvenience! Mind you, I had an abortion without any anaesthetic, not even a paracetamol. That pain was... traumatic, to say the least. So in comparison the colposcopy and smears are like a walk in the park!

@@39abc93 what? Sorry, but where i live, we get smear tests every 2-3 years, once a year if there are symptoms or if anyone in close family has symptoms. Also, 6 months after birth if person really wants it. Most people don't see their gyn/ob more than once a year, unless they are pregnant. Where do you live that you need them every 6 months?

Ok so I've had pain and discomfort before and the pain I believe was due to them using the (omg forgot the name lol) the clasp that keeps you open to big a size for me. Like they think because you're thick or had a baby that you need to use the big one so I always ask that they use the small one and not open it to much or slower when clicking it open ❣️🙏🏼 hope that helps a little
