In this softly spoken video I will read a copy of a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania newspaper from August 12, 1919 (100 years ago). I hope you enjoy 🙂

How interesting!! My grandpa was born in 1917 and although we are from Rio and local realities were so apart, it is nice to hear news from the time he was a boy 😄 Thanks for share! Your voice is really sweet and soft 💚

These are by far my favorite ASMR videos. I absolutely love your reading voice, and it’s a little nostalgic, like when the school librarian or a teacher would read a book on class. If you were interested in doing another old news reading, maybe finding some articles about the 1918 flu pandemic would be interesting, at a time like this 🤔

I found my new favorite genre of yours: old books, magnifying glass, anything really old, it is easy on the eyes, and the old items come from a slower-paced time, and thus the energy emmanates to add that extra touch of relaxing. hope you can do more. the color of the 'yellowed' pages also looks really pretty on the video screen!!! hugs.

I love the thought that the work of reporters and editors from a century ago is available to read at the Library of Congress. So many words lost in the obscurity of modern electronic mass storage, just waiting for someone to click a link and look inside. Thanks for the wonderful video.

I wonder too but I also respect that she doesn’t because I can understand that it’s probably for privacy. My son wants to do KZbin videos and I’m so reluctant to allow that for that reason. He’s only five but he wants to open toys and do science kits and review games. I’m not ready to put my child out there like that!

Gee, I wish you could be convinced to continue on with the rest of this soft spoken reading. Hearing this hometown news from so many years ago is really fascinating. BTW, I’ve come to learn that many of the so-called remedies of that era were filled with toxic substances like arsenic and formaldehyde!! So much for iron pills that ‘cleanse’ the blood!😦

I thought this was a very interesting one and I really hope you do more! I listen to you while I’m at work a lot (risky to listen to ASMR at work and try not to fall asleep, believe me I know, but your voice is the right level of relaxing so I save your videos for work). This one was hard to listen to at work though particularly because I was so interested in what you were reading, I couldn’t pay attention to work. Haha. I went to school near Altoona so I was excited to hear stories from the area. I live in Maryland north of Baltimore (near PA), though, and I’d love to hear old news from the area, if you’re taking requests! PS I keep trying to nail down where you’re from. I’ve always though mid/northwest US. Now I’m thinking PA. Hmmm...

I'm listening to this again and I just noticed the obituary you read about an "aged" respected man said he was only 53 and was a veteran of the Civil War. First of all, that's not aged! HAhaha! Secondly, I had to look up the years of that war. He wasn't even born until the year AFTER that war ended. Even if he were actually SIXTY three, he would have only been a child during the Civil War. Old timey journalism is hilarious!

Of course I had to go back and look 🙂 the writing was so tiny....I think maybe it says 83 not 53...sorry.....thank you for watching it again!
