I screamed when I saw him put margarine in the sandwhich 😂 As an American that has eaten two or three of these week since I was born, I’m very passionate about this sandwich. I personally put about half an inch thick peanut butter and the same for jam. Probably two tablespoons of each. Great video as always, but next time you gotta go all out and make a real PB&J 😎🤘😎

I was going to say the same thing. You can lay the PB on thick man. It’s just the jam or jelly that shouldn’t be piled on because it’s too sweet. But it also depends how tart the jam or jelly is. Jam > jelly in my opinion. Although crabapple jelly is quite delicious. Strawberry or raspberry jam is my favorite :) Born and raised in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦
@haydeen6535

The most important thing about the sandwich isn't really how much goes on it, but the ratio of the ingredients. So the amount on the sandwich doesn't matter, as long as they're in equal parts. This way they complement each other better.

For those of you who don't get the butter or margarine on the bread before the main ingredients, I've heard it's so your jelly or jam doesn't soak through the bread if you're making it for later. PB on both pieces is also a solution to that issue. 🤙

Am originally from Canada, and can confirm: PB&J was a common staple in my house as a lunchfood when I was in primary school. Not so much once I get to secondary school, as peanut allergies seemed to be everywhere. In my home, it was usually made with raspberry jam as opposed to jelly of any kind. I also enjoyed it with Marmalade, though. I'm now 33 and I still consume peanut butter and jam on toast regularly as breakfast. Love it. In fact, Peanut Butter is probably one of my favourite foods. Something I often catch hell for as a chef. But, there you go. You like what you like :)

The remark that bread shouldn‘t be cut triangular is a reference to an unintentional asmr video that showed an old Irish man preparing his favorite sandwich😄😄

Usa here, I appreciate your content. Would be cool to see you try more American treats like this in future videos. P.s. we use way more pb and jelly than what you used

We have jam in the US. Jelly is strictly from the juices of the fruit and jam is the actual fruit and juices together.

Looks good man, in the US a lot of us use way more peanut butter and jelly on our pb&js but that might be cuz we use too much lol culture of excess u know

as a listener, i love your stuff. i fall asleep to them everyday. this one was enjoyable just in my opinion, too edited... i like it when it’s raw and you make mistakes or it’s too loud etc. i just like it uncut for some reason.

Here is a pro tip. Toast the bread in a toaster, then put jam on one side, peanut butter on the other. Makes it warm and gooey. -American

Mix the peanut butter and jelly together first, then spread it on THICK. It keeps the sandwich from sliding apart as you eat it. I’ve never seen anyone use margarine, but it could be good. Thanks for another great video!

As a Canadian I’ve gone my whole life never encountering “jelly” on a pb&j sandwich. We say peanut butter and jelly but we absolutely use the same type of fruit jams you guys do. I also do margarine, and I’d say it’s pretty common . I was surprised to see so many comments acting as though it’s unusual. It’s a crucial part in my opinion. I’d say you made a proper pb&j, with one exception.....not nearly enough peanut butter. 2 or 3 times more minimum 🙂 PS: thanks for remembering us.
