I also hate when it’s not clear what’s in a series or not! I’ll often think i’m reading a standalone fantasy and then i’ll find out there’s 4 of them 😂

It’s been quite awhile since I read it, but I remember being surprised by how different Meyer’s writing style seemed for The Host. I quite liked it at the time and wouldn’t mind rereading it with a new (older?) perspective

I also hate when they don’t give you the book order, but here’s a tip ! I always check on the authors profile on Goodreads and the order is normally written next to each book in parenthesis, then I write it in the book (very small) behind the cover so I know witch is first and so on :) One of my pet peeves: I hate when stores put stickers on the books (price tag for exemple) but it’s not « book proof stickers » so when you remove it’s come out all wrong and leave glue/marks on the book 🫠🫠🫠🫠

I can’t stand dust jackets on hardback books, I can’t stand having to take it off when I want to read, I want the pretty cover art printed directly on the book 😂 i know they’re supposed to protect the book from damage but they’re paper? Like it’s not gonna do much😂 I only ever buy a book in hard cover if I’m too excited to read it and the paper back isn’t out yet because I have zero patience 😂❤

right?? i have a few old hardcovers with the actual cover printed on them from the 80s and they’re the best!! i wish they would bring that back

I actually agree with this!!! Art printed right on the book is so rare though😭mostly just my special editions are like that. But I get SO excited when a hardback is like that, I like it so much more🥰and I like my books aged and looking used after I’ve read them🤷🏻‍♀️

Both the Host and Eragon series is my absolute favorite. Read them so many times. Read the host you wont regret it!

I mostly agree with all of these 😂😂 the interconnected standalone doesn’t bother me cause I’ll usually read them in order of which tropes are interesting to me anyway but it does seem weird marketing wise. Like I’m reading Just for the summer currently and rly enjoying it and didn’t even know it was part of a series until someone told me 🤦‍♀️ like you said if I had know sooner, I might’ve bout the other two as well.

😅 i dislike when the cover roesnt go to the end because usually, unless I'm careful to wedge the book in between others for storage, the cover just gets weirdly floppy and won't stay closed neatly. Yhat bugs me! 😩
