This guy doesn’t slam wood pieces into their backs like the people who claim to be professionals. Because its the vibration, muscle stimulation and auditory senses that allow blood flow to the treated area. This is similar in theory to certain ED treatments (erectile dysfunction) it is said that vibration can increase blood flow via slowly pushing blood to the treatment area. Besides the point though this guy looks like he knows what he’s doing

If the mallet bounces on the chisel it sounds OK if it echoes like a sound board I find it less desirable, personally I prefer short dead sounds.

No, it's not. It is carved from a single piece of wood. It's a unique sound, so you can't help but feel that way.
