Hi Kate - Just popping in to say Viggo Mortensen is truly a modern renaissance man. Actor, screen writer, director, photographer, painter, poet, publisher, musician, horse rider, and he's fluent in 6 languages. (7 if we count Elvish.) He is the embodiment of the Most Interesting Man in the World. He appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week wearing a political slogan t-shirt: Frodo and Sam '24, "I will take the Ring to Mordor." Thanks for sharing this lovely book.

Your whispers and LotR, I couldn't have asked for a better combo for my afternoon break. Being a massive Tolkien nerd, I can't help myself, there's a small mistake there : Gondor had many kings after Isildur's death. Around 30 I think. It's was actually the descendent of Anárion, Isildur's brother and cofounder of the southern kingdom, who reigned there. While Isildur's line ruled in Arnor, the northern kingdom. The last king of Gondor was named Eärnur and was presumably killed by the Witch-king, effectively ending the line of Anárion and thus granting Aragorn his claim to the throne of a reunited northern and southern kingdom of men.
