I suffer from crushing, sometimes debilitating, insomnia. My wife marvels that I am able to function on the two to three hours of fitful sleep that I get each night. I've tried everything to find relief from it, and I mean everything, drugs, hypnosis, more drugs, etc...but nothing worked very well. I recently discovered ASMR and thought I would give it a try. I listened to a few youtube ASMR'tists and it was pretty cool. In fact, I found that something about the ASMR experience was effective at interrupting my racing thoughts, and I was getting some actual legit results. It wasn't until I found this particular video that things really began to change for me. The first night I listened to it I fell instantly into the kind of deep sleep that I haven't experienced since I was a child...long before the stresses, concerns and the weight or the world had invaded my thoughts. That night I slept, uninterrupted, for 6-7 hours. Only those of you who have suffered from truly horrible insomnia will understand the magnitude of that. The best thing of all is that it wasn't the dreamless, drug-induced sleep that you get from a pill. I had beautiful vivid dreams, the likes of which I hadn't had in a long time. And I didn't wake up dopey and groggy as one does from a drug. I woke up refreshed and clear-headed. I have probably listened to it 100 times and its effectiveness has yet to diminish.
