It basically helps to keep it fresh but also at room temperature so it's soft and quicker to use when cooking instead of having to wait for hard butter to soften up

I love my butter bell, it keeps the butter soft by creating a vacuum between the dishes the butter is in so it doesn't go bad while being out of the fridge !! I HATE hard butter !!
