Nice foot. A friend of mine had a terrible back ache on a cruse. She went to the spa there cured her backache with reflexology I feel that glass feeling in my feet when I rub them. I was shown where the period cramp pressure point is and OMG does that hurt. I like to request a self reflexology video. Please.

I’ve had a few reflexology treatments and they were nothing like what you describe. In fact, I had to discipline myself to keep from screeching in pain and my saving grace was that I knew it would only last an hour. To end my treatment, my reflexologist whacked the bottoms of my feet and told me the treatment would do me no good if it didn’t hurt. I can laugh about it now but I wasn’t laughing when I had to open my wallet and pay for my hour of torture.

Ooh, I think I'd struggle with that too! What's interesting is that I was taught a particular method when I was training by our lecturer as she had experienced extreme pain during reflexology treatments which was related to an accident she'd had many years before. She wasn't of the thinking that it should hurt to have to re-balance the systems of the body during reflex, so she looked for a method which did the same job without the associated painful elements. As a result, I don't believe you have to cause discomfort to perform an effective treatment although I understand that many who trained in various methods would disagree. Different strokes for different folks but definitely worth trying a selection of styles to find the one that works for you :)

Why can't people who massage just advocate it without buying into unscientific rubbish? Reflexology is total bunk. Massages are beneficial for a host of reasons.
@homespabeauty
@homespabeauty 6 жыл бұрын
Each to their own but it's most likely because a trained massage therapist is educated in the effects each style promotes on the body's systems and while not everyone believes in the effects of pressure point massage, in the case of reflexology, at base level it's still creating a response within the client. When a style of treatment is making crazy claims that have absolutely no effects, it doesn't tend to have a deep rooted history that carries through the years. Those treatments will be documented as fads and reflexology doesn't appear to be in that category.

Homespa Beauty Everyone is fully entitled to spend their money however they like, sure. Good massage therapists undoubtedly do good, and there is no point in simply dismissing possible treatments without investigating them. So... there may well be something to acupuncture, or aromatherapy that could be beneficial and that should be investigated. But reflexology and homeopathy.... not so much. There is very little scientific evidence to back up their claims.

Homespa Beauty By the way, I enjoy watching your videos, and you seem a very pleasant and accomplished person. I just strongly dispute the worth of reflexology. I wouldn't say the same for all alternative medicine and treatments. That's just my opinion.
@homespabeauty
@homespabeauty 6 жыл бұрын
Homeopathy is an area I don't claim to know anything about & I know you're not confusing the two but you'd be surprised how many people do! With reflex, I'd love to know how many scientific research papers have been produced as I know that you can train in clinical reflexology & aromatherapy in certain universities, plus there are practitioners that have track records of helping people to conceive, even accurately predicting the sex of the baby. I find this fascinating but I know that there is a place for evidence where there may only coincidence. It seems to be going strong as an ever popular therapy.

@@homespabeauty Of course I understand that phrase, Homespa Beauty. I am an American. However, I'm not sure if YOU fully understand how that phrase is actually supposed to be used, or if you were just being quite rude. It is a turn-off to read through the comments on a video, and to see the owner of the channel responding to the commenters with rudeness, instead of graciously accepting constructive criticism. ✌ I think a lot of people agree, there was a lot of just talking and not moving the hands. I've seen many many massage tutorials, and they massage the entire time, as they are talking and explaining. You might want to take such advice intro consideration, before being dismissive and telling someone to "read the room"... ugh🤦‍♀️
@homespabeauty
@homespabeauty 3 жыл бұрын
@@KatrinaJoy225 You're funny! This is my space and if people want to leave a comment (good, bad or indifferent) then I can answer. This was a request for a softly spoken guided ASMR relaxation using massage footage, not specifically how to learn massage. I have different tutorials for that. I listen to my subscribers and give them the content that they want. When I said read the room, it meant that they had picked the wrong tutorial for what they were looking for - it's a relaxation video and they hadn't even taken the time to read the description box where it tells you exactly that. By your own thinking, shouldn't a viewer who didn't read the description properly be the one who takes note of their feedback and not be so dismissive of the content? You think I'm being rude when I'm responding to someone who I think is being rude. It's all relative. I will graciously accept constructive feedback if it is exactly that, but in real life opinions differ and that's ok! I have a lot of wonderful American subscribers and some tell me that they understand dry humour while explaining to me that others don't get it...

“Each area of the foot corresponds to an area of the body”. Where’s my mouth?
@homespabeauty
@homespabeauty 5 жыл бұрын
The area you would be looking at is the toes and around that part of the foot, where various parts of the head are located (teeth, eyes, ears etc). If you believe in reflexology then you work on the individual reflexes, not the mouth as a whole.
