^_^ As a felllow Meet-upper, and newly minted HOST as of this year! I can say that there is a subscription, but you can choose how you want to break it down, I think every six months is the most popular, I believe, if I remember correctly, they give you a discount for the first six months if you join. I do enjoy my Meet Up group at least, it's a creative group, where you can show up and do anything you want creatively! (drawing, writing, painting) it's really nice. This is because I am a writer and an artist, and where I'm at, there wasn't a lot of art/creative meet ups either... Oddly enough, I see more NOW that I started my own! And I have been to other meet up groups that tended to fizzle away after awhile, OR from my group members POV, some say that some are a bait and switch and ask you to either pay for something, or it's like "going to a seminar for self-help" that type of stuff. But there are still some good ones! There's a business that advertises their sound baths every sunday... I don't go every sunday, but I do every once and awhile, so a lot of metaphysical/spiritual/meditation/yoga studios use Meet Ups for that too... But yeah, stay hopeful and don't give up! You'll find one that will fit you!!! And If you lived in New Hampshire, I'd invite you to mine!!! :)
