Those kind of razors actually have 2 edges on the front of you look at them under magnification. The angle is extremely important to do this, but the basically squared edge helps prevent irritation and cuts.

Dead skin builds up quite a lot on the scalp. That's what dandruff is. Some people really do have a lot.

Followed by a serious rinse and wash with some good dandruff shampoo and conditioner. That is important especially for when the skin and hair come back.
