Languages I speak: English- born and raised in Canada Korean- lived and worked there for a couple of years and dedicated many hours of study to it. Tagalog- learning from my wife and my parents, I understand it well but was never confident in it until now Japanese- currently learning. Thanks to shared grammar structure and shared vocab between it and Korean, it’s been a fun time. Whenever my wife and I travel, we make it a goal to try and speak as much of the language as we can. We also practice Tagalog and Korean at home to solidify our learning.

Do you think it is hard ?? To learn i also want to learn - chinese and japanese -- i know three lauguges - 2 mother tough_ and 1 English
@siobhanrose16803 ай бұрын
@@Basicvitaminb12 Well, you are amazing! (No sarcasm.) What are your mother tongue languages? I only speak English, and I hear English is very hard to learn, so if you can learn English, I reason you can learn Japanese. Chinese/Mandarin is very tonal, so I think it’s harder in a sense. They say Japanese and English are among the hardest languages to learn, but in my opinion it depends on the person. I am not great at retaining new information, and I have been learning about 2 months, I know 2 of the three Japanese “alphabets” and my vocabulary is growing, but I also feel like the more I learn, the less I know. They say that once you learn how to learn a language, it’s much easier to keep learning new ones, because you learn a format, and your brain takes it more seriously. I think age is also a factor, but that may just be excuses (on my part.) All in all, if you learned English, and your brain already knows 3 languages and how to think in 3 languages, I think you’ll find it easier than me at least! It’s a fun language to learn though!

I like your english accent! It's familiar to me .. I'm a big fan of football(Chelsea FC) and music(Britpop, Rock) in British culture. However, someone from Liverpool or Birmingham? pronunciation is more often than not unintelligible because I'm Korean, not British .. But your English is always spoken at a smooth and friendly pace, so I can easily understand what you're talking about. :) It's comfortable to listen to and I appreciate it.

I'm fluent in Latvian, Russian and English. I'd say it's pretty common to know at least two languages where i live. Advice I give to my friends for getting better at English is - always use software in English, try to always watch videos in English only or with subtitles, and to be able to talk - you have to talk to actual people (games are a great for this).
