Best time in primary school was a head lice out break. Our nit lady had long finger nails. She Was a smoker so she always had breath mints in that was way over powering and blind as a bat so took her 5/10 minutes to check your head. Absolute bliss.

LIce check is for sure a marmite ASMR trigger. For those who hate it I totally understand - after all who wants to enjoy creepy critters on your scalp. However for those who love it (as in ME!) I totally get it. Someone giving you 100% attention whilst “playing” with your hair. Plus there’s the whole nostalgic angle - oh great video btw 👍🏻

We only did scalp checks in like the 4th year. We kept our clothes on. In grade 7 and 8 we did scoliosis checks and did remove our shirt very sketchy. Just two random adults in a room with a shirtless minor

First and last head lice encounter was when we signed up our 8 yr old daughter into a theater class. There were costumes and accessories like crowns, hats and bandana's. She got them trying all the hats. Daughter is 42 now and I then started dressing her long hair with coconut oil. Theory is the nits can't glue themselves to the hair shaft. Of course regular checking a must when they're in school and have shampoo on hand. Never got lice again in those 42 yrs. Had waist l

My mom used to do lice checks for my sister and I when we were younger. She would always make us hot cocoa and a bubble foot bath to go with it and call it our “elementary school spa day”. Now I’m a mom of 5, and I do the same for my kiddos, and occasionally I ask my fiance if he would do one for me (even though I know I don’t have lice). It’s the little things in life that cause the most peaceful nostalgia moments. 🤍✨
