Story time: my first time getting my nails done at a salon I found out I have an acrylic allergy. I thought everything was normal during application(my fingers were super red and itchy but I ignored it) until they started shaping the nails and dust started forming, my throat started feeling tight and I couldn't breathe. After which I paid and left quickly (took a Benadryl ended up being okay) the nails were left on my fingers and they got so swollen within like a half hour. My fingers were bright red, itchy and almost twice the size. Went home and took them off and my fingers were red and hurt for days after.
