It's been one of the worst weekends of my life this past weekend. On Friday night I very unexpectedly had to put my dog down after he started not feeling well after being fine all day and within the span of an hour was at a point where surgery to fix the problem was a risky and expensive choice. I had to finally end things with one of my best friends today. She has been lying to me, ignoring me, and generally being shitty to me for the past few weeks and I just got fed up with it. I have to keep reminding myself that I have a lot of other people that care about me, I don't think I would have the courage to stand up for myself without them. It feels like she left a hole in my heart, one that I'm not sure is ever going to heal. Originally, because it’s been about a year since my grandma passed away and your words in this video specifically gave me a lot of comfort while navigating that one-year anniversary. But today, I’m here at 3:30PM in the afternoon because I’m immunocompromised and I got a Moderna booster yesterday and the pain in my arm has COMPLETELY knocked me off of my feet. Coming back to this one, and honestly, the missed clipping break at about 23 minutes is actually my favourite part of it. In a video about acknowledging mistakes and insecurities, confronting them, and dealing with them, a minor blemish of a missed gaff is an appropriate reminder that we all mess up sometimes. It's okay to do so, we shouldn't beat ourselves up about it, and honestly, sometimes the world is made slightly better for it. Anyway it's Boxing Day 2021 and it's been a weird year, all things considered, but Slight, you have helped get me and so many others through it, I'm sure.
