Timestamps below ↓ Hi everyone! ✨ I hope you'll enjoy this show and tell video, I've put more information on the cameras shown in the description box. As you may know, I've always been a photography enthusiast, whether film or digital. If you are curious what kind of photography I enjoy these days, I would recommend Jack Wangner's work, he's such an inspiration to me! This year I really want to take some time to shoot and edit more photos. If you wish to see my work, I encourage you to follow me on Instagram and Twitter where I post it. Also, I won't be able to post any new videos next week, I hoped I would be able to manage the recording, editing and so on of new videos, as I'm taking care of my grandparents, but It's more than I thought to take in. So I'll resume shooting early February when I'll be back home. See you soon! Take care, Timestamps : 0:00 : Introduction 1:30 : Kodak Brownie pliant six-20 6:30 : Kodak Brownie six-20 model C 10:12 : Sony MiniDV Digital Handycam 15:11 : Outro

If those beautiful old cameras could talk, imagine the stories they would tell... all the things they’ve seen, life’s joys, events, & travels. Your recent ASMR has become quite educational!

I'm glad 😊 I don't know if you've seen on instagram but I've bought some beautiful secondhand books, I want to read some pages in a video soon. I would love to both relax and educate people with my videos, so it really warms my heart to read it.

My mother had one of the small “Brownies”. But the other looks a lot like a Polaroid camera my grandfather had. I remember that when he took a photo, he had to paint on the fresh photo a development chemical that came in a little bottle with a brush in the cap of the bottle. And then he would be waving it around waiting for it to develop and dry off.📷📸🎞 lol 😂 I love your filming ideas 💡 by the way. Thank You! ☺️

Antique film cameras and ASMR? ... Am I dead and now in heaven? lol. Kodak had film and camera production operations in the UK as early as the 1890s, so both of these cameras may have been made in England and targeted to the European market from there (unless the cameras actually have made in the USA printed on them.) As you pointed out, both cameras use 620 format film. Although that type of film is no longer being made, it is essentially identical to 120 format film. The only difference is that 120 film is on a spool that's slightly greater in diameter than that used by 620. There's at least one company out there who re-spool 120 onto older 620 sized spools to sell to vintage camera users, but it's also a common "hack" to just buy 120 film and trim down the spools yourself. Also, some models of old 620 film cameras will take 120 unmodified, but that'd take some research or testing to see if that's true for your family's cameras. Here's an article about modifying 120 film to work with these cameras: thedarkroom.com/resurrect-old-620-film-cameras-with-120-film/

What a relaxing video! I think a video with the sony video camera would be amazing, a sort of one-take, classic, video. Like LLOYD's ASMR. I do love ASMR with very high production quality, but also the old days where it was obvious with a video still relaxed me immensely. Thank you for your wonderful content :)

Thank you very much 😊 I would have to fix the battery issue, but I would love to use older video cameras for some new videos

I suppose if the camera allows recording while plugged in, that could work. I have one of those old Sony cameras myself, I think it's inspired me to give making a video a go with it (if I can find the charger).

Thank you so much Justin. 🤗 I've recently checked my videos analytics and my recent medical roleplays had the most views, since everyone likes a medical roleplay. But still I wish to make other kinds of videos, which I know won't get as many views, but which will be different and hopefully refreshing. A mix of the two is the best I think.

Eastman Kodak company... started in the city of Rochester, state of New York, USA. that's where I grew up! (well, in a suburb anyway.) Kodak use to be the center of the camera and film industry but the company began a downward spiral sometime during the 90s i think. when i was in my elementary school years (early 80s) it seemed like half the kids at school had at LEAST one close relation (mom, dad, grandpa, aunt, uncle, etc.) who worked at Kodak. it was a big deal for sure
@BehindTheMoons5 жыл бұрын
That's very interesting, thank you for sharing it with me, and us! 🤗 Is the original Kodak factory still running, or is it closed now? Can you visit it? I think what happened is that the Kodak executives didn't want to start selling digital cameras (though their R&D team presumably created early on a digital camera before it was something you could buy) because it would harm their films sales. You can't stop innovation
@calldwnthesky64955 жыл бұрын
BehindTheMoons yes that's how i understand it (more or less) as well... they missed the boat to digital photography land even though they had one of, if not the most important patents (as you mentioned) of that realm. Crazy... Kodak still has a noticeable presence in Rochester tho i don't know that the factory you are interested in is still running or a museum or what. I know George Eastman had a big fat mansion which was turned into a museum and that is still in operation I believe...

This video is wonderful and a great idea. Really interesting to see these cameras. I think your ideas of both face measuring and care-taking sound awesome. A reading video probably wouldn't be as interesting to me personally - but those can be really good for helping to get to sleep. :)

I couldn't resist and also went back to this one (one of the "not yet watched" 😉). Loved it: I really like all this old or vintage technology: it's fascinating! (And I also remember well your first video with the "old" camera! : ). But i head a jump on my chair right at 10:38! My father had the same one!! 😃 (Or a twin one, I don't know, I must check, but really I remember it as identical. I will check and write to you if it's the same or different). So... how many memories: also I must have used it sometimes. Now I really want to find it out... I must ask where it's gone. The peculiar thought a camcorder like this gives to me is that, although we are still quite young or certainly "not so old", nevertheless we can feel a "tech-gap" too, if you understand what I mean: tech-speaking a camcorder like this or a cd-player or a "walkman" tape-player are really already things of a distant era, so obsolete... So it's strange: because I used a lot things like those as a child... but I'm not feeling obsolete still! 😅 (Or I hope so 🤔) || So merci bien for this video too and the nice time I could spend watching 🙂. Have a good day!

11:12 I don't think you'll be able to use that camera for analog; I had one of those years ago. (I may still have it, actually, though I've no idea where it would be.) As you said, it recorded onto tapes (which you would probably be hard pressed to find these days), but they were DIGITAL micro cassette tapes. I did just find my (pdf) copy of the manual; to open the tape compartment there should be an Open / Eject slide switch on the base of the camera. You slide it in the direction of the arrow which should cause the compartment to swing out. Even if you get a new battery, though, the recording heads are mechanical, rotating types. Whether they would still move properly after all this time...that's an unknown. The manual doesn't explicitly state the resolution but from the pixel count it looks like standard definition; 720*576. It could also store still shots onto an early model memory card, but Sony being Sony, they were proprietary cards. (Though to be fair, this was in the days before USB drives became ubiquitous.) You paid through the nose for the tapes, and the batteries, and the memory cards, which is why that was my last Sony purchase to date. Still, you've brought back some memories of times and places long gone.
@BehindTheMoons5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for all this information! 🤗 I think too that the videos recorded by this camera are not that good and don't have a specific nice look to them, so I probably won't be using it anytime soon (especially with the investment needed for the battery, tapes and such).

I don't think that they make film for those at all anymore for most cameras?
@BehindTheMoons5 жыл бұрын
It seems they don't make 620 films anymore (which is needed for these cameras), but you can use some 120 films and respool them on a 620 spool, that does the trick
