I feel like the clown was following behind the babysitter, only taking form of a clown because of her obvious interest in clowns and the circus, if she had multiple different decorations circus themed. The little brother was probably able to see it, because pets and children are able to see other worldly things more likely than adults and teens. So the clown was most likely prosecuting the babysitter, perhaps it’s a demon, and that’s the reason the little brother didn’t see it after the babysitter was gone, because she was the reason it was there to begin with.
