The smaller packaging is mainly due to limited shelf-space in Japanese department stores. There are restrictions in Japan for how large packaging can be for different items to qualify for placement in certain markets. Excessive packaging is viewed as wasteful-and unattractive. There's also a preference for small, kawaii things in Japan, lol. Love the video, btw! Just what I needed while working late and writing code. Good to see you back.

I heard that the Japanese Sanrio version won't connect with the American regular, but a Japanese regular can connect to all of them, including the American version. It's pretty confusing. I suppose they might come out with an American Sanrio version if this one does well, but we'll just have to see I guess...
