I need more of theseeee!!! I'd love phrases like "i understand/don't understand", "how do you say x in japanese", and "what does x mean in english." Also things like ordering food, etc. I'd also love if you said the phrases at full speed once or twice after the slower ones, just to hear how they should sound normally!

This was great, Melissa. Besides these teaching Japanese videos, it would be great if you did some soft spoken content on Japanese traditions/beliefs. In the bio section of another Japanese channel creator, I saw that they gave their blood type!! Needless to say, this perplexed me, so I politely commented with a question as to why this was. Someone was kind enough to explain to me Japanese Blood Type Personality Theory and it was fascinating.😊. I know that not all Japanese are believers in this, but it was still so interesting. In a poll of Japanese, 99% of the participants knew their blood type!!
@MelissadoesASMR
@MelissadoesASMR 2 жыл бұрын
Haha that would actually be very interesting! Speaking of blood type, I actually mentioned my blood type in the Japanese version of the Q&A video but not in the English version because it would just be weird for my English speaking friends😂

@@MelissadoesASMR lol. Yes, it would have confused everyone, but once it was explained to me I found it very interesting A few years back, I found out that South Koreans can have three different ages and all of them are valid in different ways, but they are slowly moving towards having only the "international age" which the rest of the world uses. Very interesting

I already knew a few Japanese words, simple everyday words like "hello" (konnichiwa), "thank you" (arigato gozaimashita), "excuse me" (sumamasen)... Your video helps me learn more. Great video. Very timely. I hit Tokyo on Nov 4 for a second crack at language immersion after 2020 turned into... well... 2020. This is why I keep getting pulled up on my pronunciation. I honestly can't hear the difference between your two pronunciations of 映画 . As long as I don't confuse ビル with ビール...

That’s great! I hope you have a blast in Japan🇯🇵 Actually, intonation is one of the most important elements in Japanese so maybe I can talk about it in my future video☺️ Having said that even native speakers including myself get it wrong sometimes so don’t pressure yourself too hard with pronunciation!

When “su” is at the end of a sentence, we tend not to enunciate its vowel as clearly as other times. Also, I’m speaking very softly here so that might have attributed to this very weak “su” sound🤔
