You can actually tell by how dark the colors are. For example, the black and white comes in different shades, like white-black, if the color was orange, it would be light, because of the vibrance, if it was red, it would be darker because of the warm tone

When you said orange I went back to the beginning and analyzed what orange tones you were wearing. I focused on your skin, a similar color to an orangish beige and I compared the two shades to that of the comb.

Idk how but me being partially color blind allowed me to see different shadings of grey allowing me to tell which color is which

I have my phone on constant grayscale so I can mostly tell what the colors are by different ways they bounce like with like shading

So, it’s not about intuition. You can compare colors even in the grey depending on something you’ve seen. The closer it looks to that object the more it looks the same in greyscale.
