Hey friends, i just wanted to revisit what i said about Redesigned - by Lauren Asher, as i found that after watching the video back i didn't atriculate my thoughts on the topic very well. In short what i'm trying to say is that i thought it was a bit careless, how depression as a serious thing lots of people struggle with - was portrait in this book. I feel like it was only surface level introducing the issue, and it very nonchalantly threw around the term, without the character being too affected by it or addressing it at all. Therapy was mentioned but only in a joking way and never actually happened in the book. The whole processes the FMC goes through (none) to get out of her depression, for me personally not justifying the seriousness that comes with using depression as a background for your character. What i was trying to say is that the same thing (e.g the non existent character development) could have been portrait if only talking about her going through a ,,rough'' phase and not per se opening the topic of depression, if you aren't willing to actually accurately talk about it. Hope that makes my point a little clearer 💗

the night circus is my favorite book but the romance is definitely not my favorite part of the story (shortly said i simply just did not care lmaoo) but i really loved the magical aspect of it and i read it while listening to a circus themed ambience so that helped as well
