Another wonderfully relaxing (yet educational) early Christmas present, thanks Kate. Although not religious, I have a copy of The Bible (to be read as literature). Last year I read the two passages about Christ's birth and was fascinated by how little of it there actually is and how much has been elaborated from those two short passages mainly by visual art and song.
