as someone who struggles to make decisions i find journaling to be therapeutic in a way bc it forces you to make decisions and then work around what doesn’t work out the way u might’ve expected then u learn to embrace imperfections bc they are an aesthetic in themselves lol 💖 i loved this video! ur journal spread looks beautiful!

I feel you on overthinking getting in the way of relaxing a/o hobbying! I’ve found that feeling or otherwise naming/acknowledging this and then doing whatever I initially set out to do helps over time… Training the brain that it’s ok to do its thing AND we can still enjoy ourselves 💗

"so have fun and relax! and I'm over here having a heart attack - we need to add some fairies or something" I had to laugh so much because this is me trying to calm down🧚🏻♀️ Thank you for your videos I love the aesthetic💫💚

My fave hobby and I love it coz there are no rules - not like painting or drawing it’s very free spirited. Sometimes I’ll choose a colour and do it all that colour sometimes I’ll just flip through my backgrounds until one grabs me and I build my art around that. No rules hon just enjoy!! You should have seen my first one as I didn’t have much materials it was shocking but I love going through the book seeing how I’ve developed my style

Ooh - something else on decision paralysis: I'm autistic and I get that too. It really helps me to plan out what I'm going to do at least a day in advance, including the fun stuff (like, the night before, I'll set aside time the next day to work on a specific project like a painting) and that helps me avoid the 'guilty' feeling when I go to do that thing the next day bc. it's like an 'assignment'. IDK if that makes sense tho XD

We're in this together! I'm trying to romanticize my life too :) here are some things I've been really enjoying: - Listening to classical music, esp in the morning (there's nothing like some Beethoven to help you start your day feeling like a Jane Austen heroine) - Adding an extra accessory like ring/necklace to feel fancy even if I'm not going anywhere - I love drawing/painting and I stopped doing it while I was busy in college - I've started doing it again, also in public. It's so much fun to sketch on the bus, in a museum, etc. and I've noticed my skills improving with practice - Also if sketching around other ppl is too intimidating, plein air painting (like doing watercolors out in nature) is super fun and relaxing! - Engaging more with classical literature, poetry, and philosophy (this has helped me bc I'm an engineering student and find myself only reading fluid dynamics textbooks if I'm not careful) - Trying to do something creative/artistic every day, even if it's just writing a quick poem - boosts my mood and gets the creative juices flowing :)
