@@NiceGuy88 imo they're a large part of the problem, they use "ASMR" to funnel traffic to their OF, so from KZbin's perspective, ASMR is highly correlated with that content

I'm really torn about this video. On one hand, the tongue tapping is oddly satisfying, but the spit painting concept feels a bit off to me. Is it really necessary? I get that ASMR is all about experimenting with different sounds, but some things just don’t sit right. What do others think

I’m a long time ASMR watcher, maybe 9 years now, and I was iffy about spit painting at the start. Some creators use it sexually to make money which always threw me off. that being said, there will always be a sexualized side of ASMR unfortunately and it’s our choice whether to interact with it or not. Spit-painting isn’t sexual in itself but there are people who’ve made it that way unfortunately. I never would’ve thought I would like the idea of spit painting as much as I do now but something about it is super relaxing. I think it’s kind of instinctual, like how kittens are groomed by their mothers and whatnot. It’s kind of just a very calming and relaxing gesture that implies that it’s time to sleep.
