ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response it is described as a pleasurable tingling sensation that can be felt most commonly in the back of the scalp and down the spine but not limited to these area's.
I try to describe ASMR experience to people using something common like visiting a hairdresser, do you find the experience of someone focusing on you, the gentle touching of your hair, the sound of the scissors moving around you relaxing?
That would be a relaxing experience, watching ASMR video is like recreating that type of experience.
I believe most people can experience ASMR, to experience ASMR you need to find you trigger, common triggers will often be related to one person focusing on you or another person and watching this person focus or give them attention will trigger it.
Triggers:
Watching massage ** Baba Worlds Greatest Head Massage **
Watching a person focus and describe something there passionate about ** Bob Ross deep voice talking about painting, scraping sounds, brushing sounds. The forefather of ASMR **
Whispering ** Maria GentleWhispering the Queen of ASMR **
Listening to someones voice & the way the talk
Soft spoken voices & certain accents
Hand Movements
Watching Someone Focus on a task
Personal Attention - like a hair cut
Any type of Role Play the best ones are ones that involve personal attention to you, examinations, face brushing ect
Watching someone draw or paint
Sounds : Crinkle, Tapping, Scratching & multi layering of different sounds together
Almost anything can be a "trigger' for a persons ASMR everybody is different, you just have to find yours.

My 9 year old son shares the ability with me to be affected by ASMR. I have always taught him to not be embarrassed of it and to feel lucky to have it.. He puts on his headphones every night and says "It's time for ASMR Mom." He absolutely loves your trigger videos and this one is his favorite. Thank you so much for spending so much of your time in making these incredible videos for people just like my son and I. . .

jp whataboutit Once I showed what ASMR is to my 7 years old little brother and since then when he eats he always comes to me and starts chewing into my ear and asks if that sound is okay or not. And then he wants me to do the same for him.

What works best for me is imagining how the object's texture would feel on a surface. By doing that, it feels like i actually feel it through sound. This is why i love the sounds of different scraping and tapping surfaces/textures.

The fact that he's rubbing the stick against his head in the beginning negates any effect the sound might have had on me. All I can think of are all the skin cells that are falling from his head as he does so.

The wooden blocks are one of my main triggers; along with inaudible whispering, some crinkling sounds and paper turning. A lot of these all have to do with listening to children play.

Listened to this while I read today. Good stuff, without talking its not distracting at all to do stuff with the headphones on and this playing

Excellent as always sir. A humble request : in previous videos you used 2 cut out foam blocks as tapping. Are you going to continue using them? Best

Spent way too long trying to figure out what you wrote when you turned the slate towards us at 15:40. I got "I love ____ ASMR." WHAT IS THE OTHER WORD.

good video was curious if at some point you might make a video using painting on a canvas have an artist come and paint while you whispered ear to ear? i just notice in each video there is always a painting or picture in the background. just an idea in thought.

Triggered so hard that I had to stop watching this so I could get some work done! That rhythmic scratching/drawing motion thing you do is an absolute killer.
