Hi Dido! I’m Italian, so I’ll tell you more about Goleador and the Pandoro! Goleador are actually a candy that almost every bar sells and, as you said, at the advised price of 0,10€. This makes it very very popular among kids which with only 1€ can buy ten. The most popular flavor is Coca Cola, then there’s some different fruit flavors and a licorice one! The “Ore Liete” (O-ray Lee-ay-tay) Pandoro: I’ve never seen that brand before so I cannot know the quality of what you ate, but the “cake” you tasted is actually Pandoro (“Bread of Gold/Golden Bread”). Its preparation is more similar to a bread than a cake and it’s usually five times as big as the one you ate!! It’s a big sweet you eat during Christmas time and it’s previously shaken in a bag with powdered sugar (so to cover it entirely) and then served sliced with either a Mascarpone cream or dipped in milk or coffee (since it’s a little dried, as you said).
