As a pro chef, this may end up being more exciting to me than relaxing. Your next vid should be classic knife cuts ;)

Hey Gordon Ramsay, as a "pro chef" you should know this is a cheap ass domestic knife set and should be no where near a restaurant kitchen ;)

Dang, pretty aggressive comment for an ASMR vid

@@chillisauce6079 Nice, liking your own comment. They never said anything about the set being anywhere near a restaurant kitchen. I don't know why you're so pressed over their comment. Chill bro.

Steels only hone the knife's edge. That you are straightening the much softer steel of the knife. To actually sharpen, you need something that can remove steel like a diamond grinding/polishing stone/wheel or a whetstone that makes an abrasive slurry. In that a dull blade will never be sharpened with a honing rod and will effectively maintain the same dullness as you started working with it. If you had just sharpened your knives and wanted a little edge back, using them on the steel would help (especially with softer stainless blades). Carbon steel and much harder stainless blades dont really need a steel when you can sharpen then occasionally (per your use; that a commercial chief would need to sharpen far more often than if you are cooking for yourself).

Exactly why I invested in an electric knife sharpener. My grandmother had a knife for 50 years that my grandpa kept sharp. By the time they passed, the blade was probably a 1/4 the size it started out at and still a great knife.

Wowww 🤩 I just instant bought these because that color is one of my favorites and it’s uncommon to see it in cookware! Thank you for posting this unboxing video, I coincidentally needed a new knife set and it’s a good deal for what you get 🎄🎁4️⃣me 😂 P. S. Idk if you have ever seen the TV show Forged in Fire, it’s a bladesmith reality competition show but one of the judges always says in a really dramatic way “this knife…. will kill” and I kept thinking that when you’d touch the blade 🤣

Came for ASMR - stayed for actual info on knives. Was surprised to hear using the bread knife to cut tomatoes and peppers - I mean sure it will do the trick, just wouldn't be my personal choice.
