I was wondering if you could build on this and shine a beam of light through some lenses to also show the different amounts of refraction each type of lens provides. Ie. How does a D.S change the beam of light vs a D.C (and also different axis) vs a prism.

@@SRPASMR Thank you, that's my science teacher coming out :P You could look at getting a refraction light box to get the thin beam of light. It would most likely also come with some demonstration lenses and prisms. Hopefully you could also get it to work with your lenses?

To me it looks like a large sheet of paper on top a whiteboard. A whiteboard would probably be a bit more reflective and before he moves the board you can see that it doesn't fill the wood frame in the top right corner.

Fascinating. I’ve been wearing glasses for 41 years and only knew I had astigmatism in that time. I couldn’t remember what it meant or how the glasses helped. I was silly enough to believe that correction glasses healed the problem. But every two years I needed stronger ones. Don’t know what happened to that because it’s cataracts now. I’ve reached the prescription limit. Laser next apparently. The woman I saw was impatient with each question I asked. I enjoyed your explanation and felt so very relaxed. I’ll need to find my script and see what I can learn from it. 💜🇦🇺

Cool, thank you. Following successful cataract surgery, you should see a vast visual improvement. Colours, contrast and vision should improve. Some people still require distance correction afterwards though.

Prisms are so damn good.. I've always been a bit lazy when doing mu eye exams so I never really bothered to get my headache checked out but one day when I was driving my head began pounding and I became really tired out of nowhere so I took my glasses of and drove for 10 min on the highway and the headache disappeared. I immediately contacted my optometrist regarding my headache and when realised I maybe needed a prescription with a prism and under the eye exam when he gave me some prism lenses to play with, that was the day I finally "cured" my headache and I got so emotional and I thanked him for helping me out because now I can finally go by my day without having that damn headache
