I grew up in Baltimore in the 90s and Hechts was one of my earliest memories. My mom lived in that store. I’m so sad that they’re not around anymore to have that little comfort.

Im from Maryland and now live in NMB, SC. I remember when Hechts closed. It was a saddd day for us shoppers! I mean Bloomingdales is nothing to sneeze at nor is Macy’s! It’s sad that malls are closing and shopping is no longer the same as it was when I was growing up in the 80’s or when my kids were little.

I miss the old department stores. We used to have a Hills here in WV and they had the concession stand at the entrance 🤤 popcorn, hotdogs, subs, pretzels and nachos. My sister used to shop at a store called Fashion Bug 😂 late 90s flared jeans with butterflies. Parted hair down the middle. Some of the fashion from yesteryear was atrocious. And I somehow survived the 80s/90s living with two women, that used lots of HAIRSPRAY. Frizzy hair, bushy bangs and the smell of stinky perms. Thank god I don’t have to relive those days.

It doesn't bother me. They're not a charity and can't continue making a profit with inflation the way it is. Honestly, I'm surprised they didn't raise prices sooner. They held off as long as they could, in my opinion.
