ASMR Vintage Magazine Look-Through: March 1958 Ladies' Home Journal (Soft Spoken/Whisper)

Hello, there! In this video, we're looking through the March 1958 issue of Ladies' Home Journal! This one is around 200 pages and FULL of beautiful color photographs! I'll be speaking in a soft spoken tone, with some whispers here and there. (If I sound a little bit different than usual, my voice was still healing from an intense bout with strep throat. Thank you, Laura! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I have gotten some from estate sales in the past, but now I mostly pick them up from a vintage magazine booth at a local vintage/antique emporium. It's a little treasure trove!

Love these vintage magazines and your gentle voice. Love the page turning sounds. My only suggestion is that you keep all the page turnings “pure” and don’t jump cut/dissolve into them in the videos. It detracts from the page turning sound and at times eliminates the sounds completely.

Thank you so much for that suggestion! I'm glad you mentioned it, because it's actually something I go back and forth about while editing. Most of the page turning transition edits are because I feel the pages make a loud, potentially "jarring" sound and I don't want to scare anyone, of course 😆 Sometimes it's almost like a loud popping sound... but then I wonder if maybe people might be ok with those sounds. If I hear it when I'm recording, I go back and re-turn the page as carefully as possible to avoid it, but sometimes the sound is louder with the mic than I realized when recording and I go back and edit it out. What do you think? Are potentially louder crinkles and pops worth leaving in for a more natural effect? Thanks so much for your kind words! 😊💖
