For anyone who may be wondering... that optic mount is because the top of the AK is a dust cover that comes off to service the rifle, whereas an AR-platform splits in half right above the trigger. I wish I could buy an AK in a dark, sound-treated room with targeted lighting. Instead I gotta go to bright-ass, loud as fuck gun stores that try to be ultra modern and family friendly. That's a top-teir rifle, my dude.
